Loading Madeleines into a Flow-Pack Machine

This project was carried out for a company that is a leader in the French biscuit market. To strengthen this position and maintain the performance of its production lines at the highest level, the company contacted JYGA. The project involved installing a system for loading madeleines into a flow-pack machine.

Project & solution

To meet this requirement, JYGA recommended the installation of a robotic loading machine for a flow-wrapper.
The JYGA cell had to receive madeleines on an existing conveyor, load them onto the lug conveyors of two existing flow-wrappers, provide storage/retrieval of madeleines during a downstream line stoppage, and include a manual workstation on each side of the madeleine conveyor.

The madeleines arrive in rows at the production-line outfeed on a conveyor. Two 4-axis robots fitted with grippers or vacuum tooling, depending on the format, perform identical loading operations. Each gripper picks a row of madeleines and places it onto the existing lug chain of the flow-wrapper.

Two conveyor lines are provided to buffer products if the wrapping machine stops. This buffer allows the flow-pack machine to stop for 5 to 9 minutes depending on the format.
