This cobot case packer was designed for a food manufacturer that wanted to rethink its production line using reusable containers. The company was looking for a flexible, compact solution for packing trays into plastic crates.

Project & solution

To meet this requirement, JYGA recommended installing a cobot case packer.

The trays arrive on a conveyor at the outfeed of a thermoformer and an overwrapping machine.

A batch of two trays is presented to the case-packing cobot. Fitted with a suction-cup gripper, the cobot picks the stainless-steel or cardboard trays and places them into plastic crates on a second conveyor.

Once full, the plastic crates are conveyed to a manual palletizing station.
