Cobot Palletizer for Open Trays

This collaborative palletiser was designed for a French family-owned dairy. The dairy has been producing traditional recipes for more than five generations and makes a wide variety of products including fresh cheeses, fromage blanc, desserts and yoghurts.

The company asked JYGA to install a collaborative palletiser to automatically palletise trays of goat’s cheese.

Project & solution

To meet this requirement, JYGA recommended the Pal’it Air collaborative palletiser. 

Empty pallets are supplied individually by an operator, with two floor positions provided.

Once labelled, the cases arrive lengthwise. They are then transferred to a stacker that stacks the cases in pairs or leaves them single depending on the format. The cases are conveyed to a pick conveyor where they wait for the collaborative palletising robot.

The cobot picks the waiting cases using its gripper. It then places the cases on the pallet being built according to the palletising pattern defined in JY’TOOL software.

Once the pallet is full, the operator is notified by a visual signal. Meanwhile, the palletising cobot continues palletising cases at the second floor station. When both pallets are full, palletising stops.

A distinctive feature of this collaborative palletiser is its gripper, specially designed to meet the dairy’s handling requirements.
