Depalletizing and Palletizing Bags of Meat
Product

Pallets and layer pads

and wooden pallets/plastic pallets
Company
A logistics provider stores frozen meat bags for a food-industry customer on pallets separated by cellular layer pads. The frozen bags are kept in logistics warehouses at temperatures below 5°C and relative humidity below 75%.
When the bags are returned to the customer, the logistics provider must remove the cellular plastic layer pads from the pallets and replace them with cardboard layer pads. This operation was previously carried out manually.
The warehousing and logistics company therefore contacted JYGA to automate the task.
Project & solution
To meet this requirement, JYGA proposed installing a robotic depalletizing/palletizing system.
The solution includes two palletizing and depalletizing robots. The meat bags are stored on plastic pallets. The first robot picks complete layers of meat bags and places them on the target pallet.
At the same time, the second robot removes the cellular plastic layer pad left on the first pallet and stacks it for discharge.
