Client project – Technical solution
Palletizer for Collapsible Plastic Totes
Product

Collapsible plastic totes

Company
A company specialising in reusable-packaging logistics contacted JYGA as part of a productivity improvement project.
The company was looking for an automatic solution for sorting and palletizing collapsible plastic bins at the outfeed of a washing line.
Project & solution
To meet this requirement, JYGA recommended installing a 14-lane sorting line together with a palletizing cell and complementary solutions for strapping, labelling and accumulating full pallets.
Handling and stacking bin piles
Stacks of folded bins are transferred to collector conveyors. Each stack is routed to its assigned lane.
Accumulation and batch preparation
When a stack of bins is complete, it is discharged to an accumulation buffer. This buffer supplies the palletizing area with several product references.
Palletizing
When four stacks of the same reference are available, they are conveyed to the palletizing station. At the same time, empty pallets are automatically supplied by pallet destackers.
A stack-height inspection system verifies that each stack contains the same number of bins.
The full pallet is then conveyed to the strapping area.
Strapping / Labelling / Accumulation
A completed pallet is then strapped and labelled.
Strapping stabilises the stacks of bins on the pallet. Three independent strapping machines perform the operation, helping maintain the production flow.
A label identifies and provides traceability for the bin references on the pallet.
The finished pallets are discharged and then collected two at a time by a forklift driver.
