This application was developed for a French group specialising in the manufacture of biscuits, rusks and long-life pastries.
To maintain its leading position, the group continually seeks to improve the performance of its production lines. The company therefore contacted JYGA to provide a case palletising/depalletising system and a pallet destacker to complement a mixed-product case packer.
Project & solution
To meet this requirement, JYGA recommended the installation of a robotic depalletizer from the standard JYPAL range.
Normal mode – Palletizing at the case-packer outfeed
Stacks of empty pallets are loaded manually into a magazine accessible to the robot. The robot picks the pallets and positions them at each palletizing station. In normal operation, the robot can palletize at two stations equipped with powered pallet conveyors. At the case-packer outfeed, the cases are carried by a conveyor line and accumulate against a stop. The cases are then released one by one onto a row-preparation table according to the palletizing pattern. A robot fitted with a vacuum gripper and retractable forks picks the prepared rows and places them on the pallet at the palletizing station.
Mixed-product mode – Depalletizing full cases back to the mixed-product case packer
In mixed-product mode, full pallets are placed by an operator on one of the pallet conveyor lines. The robot picks rows of full cases and places them on a return conveyor feeding the case packer. Once the operation is complete, the pallet is discharged for operator removal, while the empty pallet is picked by the robot and returned to the empty-pallet magazine. The cell can also manage pallets containing incomplete layers. The operator enters the number of layers on the control panel and the robot performs a safety check before processing.
