Collaborative Palletizer for RSC Cases

A major company in the pharmaceutical/cosmetics industry contacted JYGA to improve its packaging lines with a carton case-packing and palletizing solution.
For the palletizing function described here, the system had to receive full cases from the case-packer outfeed, receive empty pallets at two locations, palletize the cases and make the full pallets available to operators.

Project & solution

To meet this requirement, JYGA proposed installing a Pal’It Air collaborative palletizer. This compact, modular palletizer integrates easily into a wide range of industrial environments.

The cases are conveyed lengthwise at a height of approximately 750 mm and accumulate against a fixed stop at the robot pickup station. An upstream 90° transfer isolates batches of cases.

At the same time, pallets enter the palletizing cell from both sides.

The collaborative palletizing robot, fitted with a vacuum gripper, picks the cases and places them on the pallets in cross-stacked layers according to the predefined pallet pattern.
Once the required number of case layers has been reached, an operator removes the completed pallets.

The solution is supplied with JYTOOL pallet-pattern creation software, giving the customer full autonomy.
