Company
This application was developed for a French company specialising in flour/seed production. To improve production throughput, the company asked JYGA to supply a robotic palletising cell.
The robotic palletiser must receive the bags, receive layer pads and stacks of pallets, palletise the bags and discharge full pallets.
Project & solution
To meet this requirement, JYGA recommended the installation of a single-line robotic palletiser.
The bags are sorted and manually placed on the inspection-station conveyor. They are then carried by an infeed and accumulation conveyor to a turning module according to the palletising pattern. They are subsequently transferred sideways onto a roller table for row preparation.
At the same time, stacks of empty pallets and layer-pad pallets are positioned by the operator between floor guides while the cell is stopped. The cell restarts automatically when the doors are closed, after operator validation.
A 6-axis robot is fitted with a gripper and vacuum cups to perform three types of pick: bags, pallets and layer pads.
The empty pallet is picked by the robot and placed on the stopped palletising conveyor. It is then re-centred laterally before the robot places the various bags and layer pads.
The full pallet is then transferred to a collection station outside the safety zone through the light curtain. An intermediate station can store a second full pallet before collection without stopping the cell.

Benefits of the JYGA solution
- Single-line palletiser: solution dedicated to flour bags.
- 6-axis robot: one gripper for bags, pallets and layer pads.
- Row preparation: integrated turning module and roller table.
- Pallet/layer-pad management: stacks placed on the floor and picked automatically.
- Safe area: full pallets collected outside the robotic cell.
- Reduced strain: less bag lifting and manual handling.
