Collaborative Palletiser Pal'it Air

The Pal’it Air collaborative palletiser is a robust cobot palletising cell designed for straightforward end-of-line integration. It can be installed quickly at the end of a production line to automate palletising while maintaining operator access around the cell. The collaborative robot helps reduce the need for traditional perimeter guarding where the risk assessment and application allow it. Pal’it Air is modular and can palletise two lines, manage one or two pallets and optionally handle layer pads. Pallet patterns can be configured in a few minutes using JY’TOOL software.

A simple, cost-effective collaborative palletiser

The mobile Pal’it Air collaborative palletiser uses collaborative robotics to automate industrial palletising operations. Automating palletising and depalletising tasks with a cobot can improve working conditions by reducing repetitive manual handling. Pal’it Air is designed as a plug-and-play solution with a comparatively low investment requirement and short payback potential.

Collaborative palletising is suited to industrial environments where compact layouts and safe interaction with operators are important.

The cobot provides repeatable pallet loading and unloading with industrial levels of positioning accuracy. Pal’it Air can palletise two lines simultaneously and can handle a wide range of products and cases for sectors including food and beverage, healthcare, cosmetics and hygiene.

Whether you need to palletise closed or open cardboard cases, shelf-ready cases, boxes or wooden cases, JYGA can configure the Pal’it Air around the application and product format.

One example is a pharmaceutical application in which closed RSC cases are palletised with a collaborative solution. In that project, the specified throughput was up to 5 cases per minute, depending on the customer requirements.

JY’TOOL pallet pattern software

The collaborative palletiser can be equipped with JY’TOOL pallet pattern software. Operators can configure pallet patterns directly, save multiple configurations independently and transfer the selected programmes to the robot.

Benefits of the Pal’it Air collaborative palletiser

  • Space saving — compact footprint for straightforward integration on the production line
  • Fast installation — designed to integrate into an existing line with limited changes
  • Modularity and mobility — can be moved between production lines and adapted to new formats
  • Operator autonomy — helps teams build skills in collaborative robotics
  • Flexible, robust robot — combines the repeatability of industrial robotics with collaborative operation
  • Fast return on investment potential
  • Collaborative operation — designed around the working environment and operators
  • Flexibility — can palletise two lines simultaneously

JYGA supports the Pal’it Air project from design through commissioning, with the aim of maintaining the required productivity and line performance.

To help customers assess the future installation, JYGA can also present the project in full-scale virtual reality using the customer’s layout. This can help visualise footprint, ergonomics and product flows before installation.

JYGA can support both palletising and depalletising projects.

Example collaborative palletiser installation

For a pharmaceutical and cosmetics manufacturer, JYGA integrated a Pal’it Air collaborative palletiser to improve end-of-line productivity.

The compact, modular cell uses a vacuum gripper to pick cases and place them on pallets in interlocked layers according to the predefined pallet pattern. Once the required number of layers has been completed, an operator removes the full pallet.

JY’TOOL gives the customer autonomy to create customised pallet patterns. In this application, Pal’it Air handles approximately 2 to 5 cases per minute, depending on the product and pattern.

The project illustrates JYGA’s approach to collaborative palletising and the integration of compact automated solutions.

For the installation described in the source project, the palletiser footprint is 3,020 x 1,733 x 1,413 mm and the pallets measure 1,000 x 1,200 x 145 mm.

Advantages of the collaborative palletiser

  • Space saving
  • Fast installation
  • Operator autonomy
  • Mobility
  • Modularity
  • Fast return on investment potential

How does the collaborative palletiser help protect operators?

In collaborative mode, the collaborative palletiser stops if it detects contact with a person. In cooperative configurations, an invisible safety zone can define the palletising area; if the zone is breached, the cobot stops immediately.

Can the Pal’it Air collaborative palletiser be moved from one production line to another?

Pal’it Air is designed to be modular and mobile, making it easier to transfer between production lines and adapt it to new formats.
