This wrap-around case packer is intended for a French cheese producer, a subsidiary of a leading dairy group.
The dairy specialises in fresh cheeses. To improve its packaging lines, the company was looking for an automated solution for case packing portions of spreadable cheese.
Project & solution
To meet this requirement, JYGA designed a wrap-around case packer for closed cases.
The trays of cheese portions arrive on a pacing belt that manages the flow and separates the products on the robot pick conveyor.
The products are then conveyed to the loading area, where a vision system determines the position of each product. Two 4-axis case-packing robots each pick one product on the fly using vacuum-cup grippers and place it in the case at their respective station.
Once the case is full, the flaps are glued and then pressed. At the final station, the weight of each case is checked.
