This application was developed for a French group specialising in cotton-based personal-care and hygiene products. To maintain the performance of its production lines, the company asked JYGA to improve the case-packing stations at the end of the line.
The case packer had to receive sachets and flat cardboard blanks, inspect the sachets, form shelf-ready cases, load the sachets and then discharge the formed, full wrap-around cases.
Project & solution
To meet this requirement, JYGA recommended installing a wrap-around case packer for shelf-ready cases.
Flat cardboard blanks are positioned manually in the case-packer magazine. A suction gripper destacks the bottom blank and positions it in a U shape between two lugs on the transfer chain. At the following stations, case forming continues and the case is tilted in front of the two robots. The first robot loads half of the sachets and the second completes the filling. Each robot packs the sachets in pairs using two successive picks and one placement.
At the following stations, the case flaps are glued and pressed. At the final station, the case is transferred laterally.
