Wrap-Around Case Packer for Goat Cheese Logs
Product

Goat cheese logs
Company
A company specialising in dairy products such as cheese, yoghurt and desserts made from goat’s and sheep’s milk was looking for an automated way to efficiently pack goat-cheese logs as part of its expansion.
Project & solution
To meet this requirement, JYGA recommended installing a wrap-around case packer designed for tapered cases, which help optimise airflow around the products. A suction-cup gripper ensures that the products are handled without compromising their integrity.
The goat-cheese logs arrive at regular intervals on an infeed conveyor. They are loaded one by one into a bucket chain that prepares the rows. At the end of the chain, the rows are transferred and realigned before being picked by the robot. A 6-axis robot fitted with a suction-cup gripper picks the batch and places it in the waiting, pre-formed case.
Compliant cases leaving the wrap-around case packer are labelled and transferred laterally onto a discharge conveyor. They are then conveyed to a weighing module that checks case fill.
