This case packer was developed for a company that markets camping and outdoor products. As part of the development of a new product reference, the growing company contacted JYGA to find a solution for the automatic case packing of valved gas cartridges.
The installation had to receive stacks of flat cardboard blanks, receive products from an existing line, form the cases, pack the gas cartridges, close the cases and discharge the full cases.
Project & solution
To meet this requirement, JYGA recommended the installation of a wrap-around case packer for closed cases. The gas cartridges arrive laterally on a preparation belt where a stop divides the flow in two in order to prepare two rows.
At the same time, stacks of flat cardboard blanks are manually loaded into the wrap-around case-packer magazine. The machine has 6 stations for forming, filling, closing and discharging the case.
For case packing, a 6-axis robot fitted with a vacuum gripper picks the rows of gas cartridges and places them into the waiting case. Once full, the case is closed and then discharged towards palletising.
