Company

This application was developed for a company that develops, approves, manufactures and markets crop, plant and home-care and protection products (crop-protection products). To improve its production lines, the company was looking for a solution for the automatic case packing of jerrycans.

At the customer’s request, the installation had to receive stacks of flat case blanks, receive jerrycans from an existing line, form the cases, pack the products, close the cases and discharge them, while ensuring operator safety.

Project & solution

To meet this requirement, JYGA recommended the installation of a multi-format automatic top-load case packer. The jerrycans are collected at the outfeed of the labelling area. At the same time, stacks of flat blanks, manually loaded by the operator into the belt magazine, are formed and bottom-taped by a case former integrated into the case packer. The jerrycans are conveyed to the vertical case packer, which automatically packs products from above, and are picked by a 6-axis robot using a gripper specially developed with additive manufacturing for this application.
Once filled, the case is discharged to a case closer. A new empty case is simultaneously positioned at the case-packing station. An inkjet marking system and then a labeller are integrated at the end of the cell. The case is then discharged towards palletising.
