For this customer, a European leader in poultry and prepared foods, JYGA designed a wrap-around case packer for shelf-ready cases.

The case packer is integrated at the end of a production line and automatically packs large thermoformed trays.

The wrap-around case packer combines all the following functions: tray infeed, forming of cardboard cases from flat blanks, tray loading, case closing, case discharge and integration of a labelling unit.

Project & solution

To meet the requirement, JYGA proposed a wrap-around case packer for shelf-ready cases. This compact machine combines three functions: forming, case packing and closing.

The trays arrive from a checkweigher and labeller. At the same time, cardboard cases are formed from flat blanks.

A manipulator fitted with a suction-cup gripper picks the trays by the layer and loads them into the pre-formed cardboard cases. Once the required number of layers has been reached, the cases are closed and discharged to a palletizing station.
