Wrap-Around Case Packing for Rillettes Cups

This application was developed for a French company specialising in the industrial preparation of meat products.

The company wanted to preserve its traditional recipes while modernising its production equipment. It therefore contacted JYGA for an automatic case packing project for rillettes cups.

The case packer had to receive stacks of flat cardboard blanks and the incoming products, form the cases, load the cups and then close the full cases.

Project & solution

To meet this requirement, JYGA recommended installing a wrap-around case packer for open cases.

The case packer includes a cardboard-blank magazine, a cup-loading module and a full-case discharge module.

The products arrive on a conveyor, where they are grouped into batches for case packing. At the same time, stacks of cardboard blanks are extracted from the magazine, formed and positioned in front of the cups. A robot picks the batch of products and loads it into the waiting case.

The case flaps are folded, glued and pressed in sequence. At the outfeed, full cases are discharged laterally onto a conveyor, either crosswise or lengthwise depending on the format.

The case packer is equipped with automatic format changeover functions:

• Adjustment of the sheet-metal chute guides
• Changeover of the turning module
• Adjustment of conveyor side guides
• Squaring adjustment using indexed handles
• Gripper changeover
• Operating-mode validation from the control panel
