This case packer was developed for a French food-industry company specialising in desserts. To maintain its leading position in the frozen-dessert market, the company continually invests to improve the performance of its production lines.
In this context, the company contacted JYGA to provide a solution for the automatic case packing of chocolate fondant cakes.
Project & solution
To meet this requirement, JYGA recommended the installation of a wrap-around case packer for closed cases.
Cartons or flow-packed fondants are taken up lengthwise on a conveyor.
A system then transfers either a carton, a flow-packed tray or individual cakes laterally onto a layer-preparation conveyor where they accumulate.
A batch-preparation module groups the products by layer.
The robot picks a variable number of products depending on throughput and packaging, then makes one or more placements into the case.
Once full, the case is glued and then closed at the following stations on the chain conveyor. At the final station, closed cases are transferred sideways and taken up lengthwise on a conveyor.
At the end of the conveyor, the cases are discharged onto a gravity conveyor towards palletising.
