This application was developed for a French family-owned cheese manufacturer that wanted to improve its production-line end sections. The company therefore contacted JYGA for a wrap-around case packer for Camembert cheeses, either boxed or wrapped, with full-layer product loading.
Project & solution
To meet this requirement, JYGA recommended installing a wrap-around case packer for open cases.
This machine is part of JYGA’s standard case-packer range. It automatically packs boxed or wrapped cheeses into open trays.
At the production-line outfeed, the Camembert cheeses are conveyed to the case packer and accumulate against a retractable stop. Once a complete row has accumulated, the batch-preparation manipulator transfers it to the preparation table. The manipulator repeats the operation twice to build a full layer. Once the layer is complete, it is transferred into a gripper fitted with retractable support plates. The Camembert cheeses are then placed into the formed case.
At the following stations, the case flaps are glued and pressed.
