This application was developed for a company specialising in butter and cream production. It contacted us for an automatic case-packing project for crème fraîche pouches.
The installation had to receive the pouches from two existing lines (two separate fillers), receive stacks of flat blanks (manually loaded belt magazine), pack the pouches upright according to a programmed pattern into tapered trays, and discharge the full trays for collection.
Project & solution
To meet this requirement, JYGA recommended the installation of a wrap-around case packer for open cases.
Before the case-packing station, the pouches are taken from each existing line by a conveyor that carries them to the row-preparation module. A row of 7 pouches is formed.
At the case-packing station, the tray is presented in front of the case-packing robot. The robot picks the previously formed row of pouches and places it into the case. A second placement creates a pack containing two rows.
At the next station, the tray flaps are glued and then pressed. A module creates the tapered shape of the case at the glue-point pressing station.
